Full-time Creative / Website Designer

Matrix are seeking a talented and highly motivated Creative with Graphic Design and Website Design experience to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a positive, ambitious designer with a broad range of skills, to join an in-house design team in a flourishing creative agency. The position is a full-time role with rates negotiable depending on experience and skill set. Matrix is an established creative agency specialising in the design of digital and printed marketing communications for the B2B SME, Education and Arts sectors.

We provide creative design solutions for a number of marketing disciplines including branding and identity, website design, corporate literature and publications, advertising and packaging.

The role

We require a full-time Creative to work closely with the Creative Director on a number of projects including:

  • Website Design
  • Branding and Corporate Identity
  • Commercial Literature
  • Publications
  • Advertising
  • Exhibition and Display Design
  • Digital Media

You will also be expected to:

  • take responsibility for your projects from initial concept through to final design
  • develop and produce marketing collateral to support the company’s strategy and visual branding
  • participate in creative brainstorms
  • contribute to the company blog, social media pages, creative award entries and other marketing activities as required
  • carry out more general artworking tasks such as undertaking amendments

About you

You will need an outstanding portfolio of work, demonstrating excellent design, layout and typographic sensibilities for a B2B and corporate environment, both in print and digital applications. You will need to have a thorough knowledge of using Adobe CC – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. You will also need to possess a good working knowledge of, and be able to use, Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

You will be required to work in our design studio, which is situated in an attractive rural barn development in Cornwood near Ivybridge. Our studio is predominantly Apple based, but knowledge of using PC and Windows will be advantageous.

You will need to:

  • be confident and proficient at Website Design and be able to show a strong portfolio of examples
  • have a good understanding of digital technologies and have experience with UI design
  • be confident dealing directly with clients in a professional manner via both e-mail and phone
  • be a quick, proficient worker
  • have an excellent eye for detail
  • be calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • have a positive with a ‘can-do’ approach to work
  • possess excellent computer and IT skills
  • have a passion for emerging digital technology
  • learn, adapt to and exploit new technologies and trends

Digital Marketing Apprentice

Matrix are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, who would like to learn whilst actively working in a small but rapidly growing design studio.

The role is based in Ivybridge and will focus on all elements of Digital Marketing including Social Media and Pay-Per-Click campaign management. The studio fosters a cohesive and collaborative culture and offers plenty of opportunities for further progression and for the right candidate to grow and learn with the business.

We provide creative design solutions for a number of marketing disciplines including branding and identity, website design, corporate literature and publications, advertising and packaging.

Key areas include:

  • social media marketing: developing a distinct online presence by attracting high numbers of internet followers through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
  • pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns: sponsored online advertising paid for by the business to appear alongside non-paid search results.

Responsibilities:

You will be required to work closely with the Creative Director, and within a Digital Marketing team.
 
In this role you will need to:

  • support daily marketing tasks
  • support population of client websites via WordPress
  • provide marketing plans for new and existing clients 
  • research new online media opportunities that may benefit the business including mobile, social media, development of blogs and forums
  • assist with web visuals with marketing input and guidance with messaging etc
  • communicate with clients
  • conduct keyword research and web statistics reporting
  • contribute to social media engagement and brand awareness campaigns
  • support management of social media accounts and other social media related tasks
  • use web analytics software to monitor the performance of client websites and make recommendations for improvement
  • contribute to company blogs and manage e-communications
  • develop and integrate content marketing strategies
  • create and manage Google and Social Media pay-per-click campaigns
  • provide accurate reports and analysis to clients and company management to demonstrate effective return on investment (ROI)
  • keep up to date with current digital trends

Other duties

  • liaise with and support other members of the team with Digital Marketing related tasks
  • answer and transfer telephone calls, pass on relevant messages

About you

You will need to have a passion for Digital Marketing with a willingness to learn and develop your knowledge of Google AdWords, Google Analytics, PPC and Social Media for Business.

You will need to:

  • be comfortable and have experience working with Apple macs
  • be calm under pressure
  • be positive with a ‘can-do’ approach to work
  • have a passion for emerging digital technology
  • learn, adapt to and exploit new technologies and trends
  • be happy to sit with clients and deal direct via phone or in person
  • be proficient with copywriting tasks
